Y’all. I’m so late in posting our 2026-2027 Short List! Sorry. I could post a litany of excuses but I’ll spare you. Here we are. One book in, with our second book’s meeting later this week.

September – Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte
October – Murder on the Orient Express by Agatha Christie
November – The Silent Patient by Alex Michaelides
January – The Calamity Club by Kathryn Stockett
February – Echo Chamber by John Boyne
March – Buckeye by Patrick Ryan
April – Mad Wife by Meagan Church
June – Whistler by Ann Patchett
Similar to last year, I’ve read about half this list already. But for books like East of Eden and Wuthering Heights, I’m looking forward to experiencing them again in a different season of life. If you visit Lit&Leisure, you know what a John Boyne fan I am. Echo Chamber has been on my TBR list for quite a while, so that’s the one that I’m probably looking forward to the most. Someone told me it is a “must read” for anyone in public relations.
