We did it! For the first time, possibly ever, we selected our short list of ten without a run-off. While there’s one or two that I’m disappointed didn’t make the final list, I’m not sure which of these I’d remove to make room. I believe this list provides a promising year of discussion.
- The Heaven & Earth Grocery Store by James McBride (July)
- Table for Two by Amor Towles (August)
- I Will Never See The World Again by Ahmet Altan (September)
- Weyward by Emilia Hart (October)
- The Demon of Unrest by Erik Larson (November)
- The Frozen River by Arial Lawhon (January)
- Booth by Karen Joy Fowler (February)
- The Woman They Could Not Silence by Kate Moore (March)
- Rabbit, Run by John Updike (April)
- Tom Lake by Ann Patchett (June)
For those of you reading along, December is our annual Christmas Gathering with book & wine Dirty Santa exchange and May is now the month when we pitch and select the next year’s books.
