Babbette, I’m reading this quite late, being new to your blog as well as to this wine. Wonderful red! I am more a Beaujolais than a Cab or Merlot drinker, so this one was great for me. Cupcake makes very good (and inexpensive) whites too, should you get the urge.

Belle – I totally agree that this is a sweeter (though I’d never think semi-sweet) and less full wine, which is why it was a favorite during the summer. It would not be my choice in the winter. I love bold, full reds during the cooler months. Since you like Malbec, check out my post on GNO wine tasting – there’s a great Malbec by Engine Room that I recommend there. I had a bottle the other night, and it is still as wonderful as I remembered.

I guess I am the only one who does not like “Red Velvet”. I like Merlot and Malbec from Cupcake but I was disappointed with “Red Velvet”. It was not deep enough and way too sweet. I even checked the bottle to make sure I did not pick “semi-sweet” by mistake…

Just sipping my first glass of Red Velvet. It’s definitely a girlfriend wine. A friend of my suggested it as her go to sipping red wine, and I agree. I’ll definitely be looking at your other wine choice, since I’m a red woman too.
